But that aside, you had noted a newspaper account:

The damage in the city of Norwich is estimated at £100,000. The trees are infested with rats, which are taking refuge from the flood.

If one might reasonably presume that (at least some of) these trees are now part of the campus of the University of East Anglia, one might also conclude that nowadays the environs of these trees are apparently infested with (as Pointman has described them) “climate prats” who are taking refuge in as much silence as they can muster!
